Shortness of Breath Heart Doctor in Katy, Sugar Land & Houston
Advanced evaluation for breathing difficulty, chest tightness, fatigue, and heart-related shortness of breath symptoms.
Shortness of breath can affect daily activities, sleep, exercise tolerance, and overall quality of life. While some breathing issues may be related to the lungs or temporary illness, others may signal underlying heart disease, circulation problems, or reduced heart function that requires prompt medical evaluation. At Advanced Cardiology, we provide comprehensive cardiac testing and personalized treatment for patients experiencing unexplained breathing difficulties throughout Katy, Sugar Land, Houston, and nearby communities.
The heart and lungs work closely together to deliver oxygen throughout the body. When the heart cannot pump blood efficiently, fluid buildup and reduced circulation may affect breathing capacity and oxygen flow. This can lead to symptoms such as fatigue, swelling, chest pressure, or difficulty breathing during normal daily activities.
At Advanced Cardiology, we focus on identifying whether shortness of breath is related to cardiovascular disease, heart rhythm disorders, weak heart function, blocked arteries, or other cardiac conditions that may require treatment and long-term management.

HOW WE DIAGNOSE SHORTNESS OF BREATH
Advanced Cardiac Testing & Heart Function Evaluation
At Advanced Cardiology, we use modern cardiovascular testing to determine whether shortness of breath is related to heart disease or another underlying condition. Since breathing difficulty may have multiple causes, accurate diagnosis is essential for proper treatment and prevention of serious complications.
Our evaluation may include electrocardiogram (EKG/ECG) testing to assess heart rhythm and electrical activity, echocardiography to evaluate heart pumping function and valve performance, and stress testing to analyze how the heart responds during physical activity. We may also use Holter monitoring to detect irregular heart rhythms over time and blood testing to evaluate cardiac function and circulation markers.
For patients with ongoing or complex symptoms, advanced cardiac imaging may be recommended to examine blood flow, artery health, and overall cardiovascular function. These tests help our cardiology team identify the exact cause of symptoms and create a personalized treatment plan focused on improving breathing and protecting heart health.
