Dr Adnan Khalid MD, is an interventional, heart failure and General Cardiologist. He has over 10 years of experience. Dr. Khalid graduated from medical school among the top 10 out of 250 medical students in his class. He is fellowship trained and board certified in cardiovascular diseases, Echocardiography, interventional cardiology, advanced heart failure, and transplant cardiology. He is focused on providing personalized and compassionate care. Dr. Khalid believes in spending time with his patients and listening to their needs and is committed to offering excellent, compassionate care.

Dr Khalid has been working with University of Texas as an Assistant Professor of Cardiology at McGovern Medical School. He has decided to open his practice, Advanced Cardiology Clinic to serve his community in South and Southwest Houston area.

Advanced Cardiology clinic has keen interest in understanding and preventing the disease process of atherosclerosis that is the deposition of sticky cholesterol in the blood vessel walls that causes blockage in the arteries of the heart and other blood vessels. Dr Khalid believes in prevention of heart disease, Advanced Cardiology clinic aims to provide preventive care to our patients to avoid heart attacks, strokes, heart failure or blocked blood vessels in the neck or legs.

Dr Khalid is a vocal advocate for managing the risk factors for cardiovascular disease. Common risk factors include hypertension, diabetes mellitus, high cholesterol, lack of exercise, obesity, family history and tobacco use. Advanced Cardiology is an ambassador for healthier life style and helps patients achieve healthier, happier and more fulfilling lives. Dr Khalid has special interest in populations at high risk of having heart and vascular disease.

One of his specialties is heart failure a process where heart muscles becomes weak or stiff and are unable to pump blood effectively to the body resulting in excessive weakness, fatigue, swelling of legs and shortness of breath. There are medications, interventional and surgical procedures to manage heart failure but it can also be prevented by adopting healthy life style choices and controlling the risk factors beforehand.

Advanced Cardiology clinic prides itself in practicing preventive cardiology. In addition, Dr Khalid is competent and proficient in managing heart disease, heart failure, with medications and with interventional procedure that involves placing stents in the arteries of the heart or lower extremities. Placing temporary pumps to help the weak heart muscles. Dr Khalid is proficient in doing coronary angiogram through the right and left arteries of the wrist, that is safer and more comfortable experience for his patients.

Dr Khalid manages his patients in conjunction with the primary care physicians and other specialists.

Dr Khalid trained in Mid America Heart institute in Kansas City, his mentors were highly skilled physicians predominantly from Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic. Dr Khalid has been involved in research and has published several peer reviewed research papers in renowned journals.

Dr Khalid is an avid reader, he believes in learning something new every day. He is an exercise enthusiast and loves to spend time outdoors with his lovely wife Beenish and three Beautiful children.
