Event Monitor Testing for Continuous Heart Rhythm Monitoring and Expert Care
An event monitor is a wearable device that continuously records your heart’s rhythm over days or weeks, helping detect irregularities that don’t show up on a standard EKG. If you experience intermittent palpitations, dizziness, fainting, or unexplained fatigue, an event monitor can capture crucial heart data during these episodes.
At Advanced Cardiology in Katy, proudly serving Sugar Land, Richmond, and the Greater Houston area, we provide advanced event monitor testing to catch heart rhythm problems early, even when symptoms are infrequent.
Under the expert care of our board-certified cardiologist, Dr. Adnan Khalid, your heart rhythm data will be closely analyzed to guide personalized treatment and keep your heart healthy.

What Event Monitor Results May Reveal
Intermittent Arrhythmias:
Event monitors capture irregular, fast, or slow heartbeats such as atrial fibrillation (AFib), supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), or bradycardia—crucial for guiding treatment, medication adjustments, or device implantation.
Silent or Occasional Heart Block Episodes:
Detects delays or pauses in the heart’s electrical signals that might not show up on a standard EKG but can cause dizziness or fainting.
Symptom-Triggered Heart Rhythm Changes:
Links symptoms like palpitations, chest discomfort, or shortness of breath to actual heart rhythm events, helping to clarify causes.
Effectiveness of Heart Medications:
Monitors how well medications control arrhythmias or other heart rhythm issues over time.
Based on your event monitor findings, your cardiologist may recommend further testing, lifestyle changes, or immediate treatment to prevent serious cardiac events.
At Advanced Cardiology, we offer comprehensive event monitor analysis in Katy and Sugar Land so you can take confident steps toward better heart health.
When Is It Time to Consider an Event Monitor?
If you experience unexplained or occasional symptoms, continuous heart rhythm monitoring with an event monitor can provide crucial insights. Consider using an event monitor if:
-
You have intermittent symptoms such as palpitations, dizziness, or fainting that don’t show up on a standard EKG
-
Your doctor suspects arrhythmias that occur sporadically or only during certain activities
-
You are being evaluated for treatment effectiveness of heart rhythm medications or devices
-
You need extended heart monitoring to identify triggers and patterns of irregular heartbeats
If your symptoms come and go, an event monitor helps capture your heart’s electrical activity over days or weeks, giving your cardiologist a clearer picture to diagnose and treat any irregularities. This non-invasive device lets you live your daily life while ensuring no episode goes unnoticed.
